BookMarkr — Last updated: April 5, 2026
BookMarkr is a personal book tracking app. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the app accesses and how it is handled.
All your data, including your book library, reading status, ratings, and notes, is stored locally on your device using an on-device database. This data is never uploaded to any server and never leaves your device.
The app requests camera access solely for scanning book barcodes (ISBN). No images or video are recorded, stored, or transmitted. The camera is used only in real-time to detect barcode data.
When you scan a barcode, the app sends the ISBN number to the Open Library API (openlibrary.org) to retrieve book metadata such as title, author, description, and cover image. This is the only network request the app makes. No personal or identifying information is included in these requests.
BookMarkr does not collect, store, or share:
The app uses the Open Library API solely for fetching book information. Open Library's own privacy policy applies to data processed by their servers. No other third-party services, analytics, or SDKs are used.
This app does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
